Art Lobdell has joined the staff of the Pine Tree Council as the Membership and District Operations Director. He joins the Council from the Western Massachusetts Council, bringing more than thirty years of experience as a Scouting America professional across five councils. He is an Eagle Scout, has attended Wood Badge, and Sea Badge, and is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. In Western Massachusetts, the council achieved 38 months of month-over-month net membership growth compared to the previous year, same month, by working with volunteers.
Art has served councils in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. He has attended training courses at Philmont, Seabase, and The Summit. Art has visited NOACs and Jamborees. Outside of Scouting, he has been involved in Rotary International and the Episcopal Church. That has led to being awarded the Cliff Dochterman and St. George recognitions. For his work with the National Islamic Committee and the World Kitchen Jamborees, he has received the Al Akbar recognition.
