Dear Pine Tree Council Unit Leaders,
We’re off to a great start—and now we need our Scouting families to help us finish strong!
Pine Tree Council has an incredible opportunity to secure a $50,000 matching gift by December 31, 2026, from an anonymous donor and our Executive Board is leading the way! Our Board has already contributed over $25,000 in new gifts toward this matching opportunity, on top of the $210,000 in donations already given in 2026. We are also closing in on 100% participation from our Executive Board!
Now, we’re asking our Scout troops, Cub Scout packs, and Scouting families to help us reach our goal.
Here’s how your unit can help!
We are launching the DOUBLE THE ADVENTURE Challenge and inviting every troop and pack to conduct a brief Friends of Scouting campaign.
- Accept the challenge: Every troop and pack is encouraged to participate.
- Make the ask: Share a short message with your families and invite them to make a new gift supporting Scouting in Maine.
- Finish by November 30: Complete your unit’s campaign by November 30, giving us December to close the gap and secure the match before the December 31 deadline.
- Help unlock the match: Every eligible new gift brings us closer to capturing the full $50,000 matching opportunity.
This doesn’t need to be a big event or a complicated fundraiser. A few minutes at a unit meeting, a family email, or sharing our short video message from our OA Lodge Chief and an Eagle Scout can make a real difference.
Think about what we can accomplish when our Board, our unit leaders, and our Scouting families work together! These gifts help strengthen the camps, programs, outdoor adventures, and leadership opportunities that make Scouting such a powerful experience for young people throughout Maine.
Our Board has stepped up. Now let’s show what our Scouting family can do! Will your unit accept the challenge? Please let us know you’re participating and plan to complete your campaign by November 30, 2026. Together, we can make the most of this extraordinary opportunity.
DOUBLE THE ADVENTURE. DOUBLE THE IMPACT. LET’S GO, PINE TREE!
Thank you for everything you do for our Scouts and for helping build the future of Scouting in Maine. Your unit’s Key Leaders will receive information shortly on how to conduct a brief unit campaign, including an informative video.
Yours in Scouting,
Gary Savignano
Scout Executive
