Scouting America’s policy on pets at Scouting activities states that “…animals or pets are not part of tours or activities in Scouting…”, as stated in the General Health and Safety FAQs under the question “Can we bring animals or pets on campouts?”
While the question asks about campouts specifically, the answer from Scouting America refers to activities in Scouting and is not specific to campouts.
Pine Tree Council has updated our Animal and Pet Policy, to provide further clarification and support of the National policy. The Pine Tree Council policy can be found here.
**Please note that this policy applies to unit get togethers, meetings and activities, as well as district level and council level programs and activities, and gatherings and activities by other Scouting related groups and organizations.
