Exploring Explosion is a National Program to grow the Exploring program in local Councils.
Exploring serves youth 6th grade through age 20 in programs based on exploring career areas. Youth in grades 6-8 are in units called Clubs. Older youth are in Explorer Posts. Career exploration can range from totally open-ended to very specific. Explorer units have wide discretion on when they might meet. Some might meet once or twice a month, some might meet weekly, others options are available. Currently, Pine Tree Council has 2 posts: York Fire Department and Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
Pine Tree community partners are considering forming Exploring units in the following career interest areas: Aviation, Drones, Fire Fighting, Maritime Careers, Medical, Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, and more… There are no limits to possible career programs. To start a program, 4 adults and 5 youth are needed.
